7 Biggest 2024 Swim Trends, According To Miami Swim Week

Miami Swim Week cemented the coquette swim trend as something to keep an eye on over the upcoming summer months. While some bikinis had delicate ruffle accents on the straps and off-the-shoulder styles, others boasted dramatic 3-D rosettes.

Miami Swim Week, an annual preview of beach-ready fashions for the upcoming summer, concluded with an explosion of gorgeous coverups, swimsuits and resortwear that matched the host city’s colour and boldness. Many well-known and emerging designers from Miami, Columbia, Australia, and other places showcased their 2025 designs during the 20th anniversary of Paraiso Miami Swim Week. In the process, they offered us a preview of the swimsuit trends that will be big in 2019.

Now is the perfect time to try out the coquette look or summer cowgirl attitude if you haven’t previously. Additionally, if you’re more into simpler swimwear, the runways argued for a traditional black-and-white colour scheme à la Barbie. If not, follow the footsteps of other designers that debuted incredibly sparkly “suits” this year that could be more appropriate for a pool party than a beach day.

See (and shop) the hottest pool fashions for summer, from tiny high-rise bikinis to one-piece swimsuits with eye-catching cuts. There’s no reason to wait until 2025 when you can shop these trends now.

Miami Swim Week: Sunset Ombré Prints & Palettes

    Miami Swim Week

In the same way that watercolour strokes made an impression during Miami Swim Week last year, sunset-hued ombré prints are currently trending. Striking gradient designs were a staple of swimwear and resortwear from brands like Cupshe and Sigal. Additionally, deep purples appeared in a number of other collections, such as Sinesia Karol and Luli Fama. A more subdued option to add the trend to your summer wardrobe is by using vibrant, geometric multicoloured designs that use sunset colour palettes.

    Swim Trend: Peek-a-Boo Suits & Cover-ups

Wear a pool cover-up to provide a twist to the trend of nude dresses. Leslie Amon, Oh Polly, Dippin’ Daisy’s, PQ Swim, Shan, and tiny eyelet fabrics provided us statement-making maxi dresses, mini dresses, and matching sets to go with your favourite swimsuit. Trends included bold crochets, printed mesh overlays, and huge fishnet designs. If you’re feeling daring, there were even bikinis with crochet and eyelet detail.

Swim Trend: Coastal Cowgirl Western Touches

    Miami Swim Week

Western swimwear is set to be a major summer 2024 trend, with styles ranging from Sigal’s paisley prints to Hunting Hue and Seafolly’s cowgirl-esque coastal handkerchiefs to Axil Swim’s models dressed in cowboy hats and boots. Brands added glittering fringe to their maxi dresses, sarongs, and coverups for alternative interpretations of the timeless style that provide a less pretentious and more approachable way to pull off the look this summer.

    Swim Trend: All That Glitters

Almost all of the brands that presented during Miami Swim Week put out sparkly swimwear and items that were meant for vacations, in true Miami style. Swimsuits adorned with rhinestones (Chloe Rose), extra-large sequins woven into crochet coverups (Leslie Amon), and fabrics and designs with all-over glitter (Azulu), holographic (Cupshe), and metallic (Shan) patterns were examples of this style.

Swim Trend: In Your Coquette Era

    Miami Swim Week

Miami Swim Week cemented the coquette swim trend as something to keep an eye on over the upcoming summer months. While some bikinis had delicate ruffle accents on the straps and off-the-shoulder styles, others boasted dramatic 3-D rosettes. Apart from delicate pastel floral designs and smocked materials, Axil Swim’s red rose patterns and PQ Swim’s lace suits contributed to some surprising ensembles. If these particulars appear too extravagant, take into account the equally charming balconette bikini tops and the delightful butter yellow types that were also seen.

Swim Trend: Belts & Belly Chains For Days

One of the most popular swimwear items that was observed was belly chains, which we believe are a great way to dress up even the most basic swimwear. Charms and pearls were common on necklaces, but Axil Swim and Sinesia Karol went one step further with butterfly designs reminiscent of Y2K. There were also a lot of varieties when it came to “swim belts,” ranging from thin styles with prominent hardware that could be removed to adjustable fabric wrap adornments that could be worn over the models’ naked tummies or layered over their swimsuits.

    Swim Trend: Graphic B&W Looks

    Miami Swim Week

Although white bikinis and black one-pieces are timeless swimwear options, many designers this year chose to combine the two hues to create less traditional contrasting patterns. Cupshe displayed a one-piece with a split down the middle, while Acacia displayed black bikinis with white piping and edges. Models debuted at the Sports Illustrated runway show donning mismatched black and white separates and bold, geometric one-pieces.
